On June 23, 2005, “Asthma and Outdoor Air Pollution” Web conference was sponsored by the U.S. EPA’s Indoor Environments Division. Over 150 individuals representing a cross-section of the healthcare, environmental, academic, research, and governmental communities attended the conference and learned about the links between outdoor air pollution and asthma and useful tools such as the Air Quality Index. The attached document contains Susan Stone’s presentation slides and a transcript of the Question and Answer session that followed the presentation. As a reminder, a PDF version of Ms. Stone’s presentation is also available to download from the Web conference site at: http://e1.e2c.com/enc/join?meetingid=uz7648. Simply follow the link, insert your name and select “Join Now.” Ms. Stone’s presentation is available under the “Documents” tab on the right hand side of the display.
Mark your calendars: EPA’s next asthma Web conference is scheduled for September 15, 2005, at 3:00 PM EST and will feature the winners of the 2005 National Environmental Leadership Award in Asthma Management. Representatives of the award winning organizations will provide valuable insight into establishing, sustaining, and evaluating the success of comprehensive asthma management programs. This presentation will be particularly geared toward healthcare providers and health plans, but all those working on asthma management are encouraged to register. Registration details and a link to the registration Web site will be emailed to you in the coming weeks. We hope that you will be able to join us for this informative conference.
