| Asthma in Schools: Results from the California Healthy Kids Survey, 2001-2003 |
California Breathing is excited to announce the release of the latest issue of California Asthma Facts titled, Asthma in Schools: Results from the California Healthy Kids Survey, 2001-2003. This issue details some of the findings from the California Healthy Kids Survey completed by 7th, 9th and 11th grade students as well as those from nontraditional settings. It includes asthma prevalence rates by gender, race/ethnicity, and county, and documents the relationship between asthma and smoking among adolescents. This fact sheet also provides recommendations and resources for creating asthma-friendly school environments. It also highlights some of the interventions used around the state to address asthma in schools.
