CARB Technical Document, Characterization of Ambient PM10 and PM2.5 in CA
Senate Bill 656 (SB 656, Sher 2003) requires air pollution control districts (APCDs or AQMDs) to develop implementation schedules identifying measures to reduce coarse particulate matter (PM10) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) appropriate to the severity and nature of the particles problems in each area. To assist air APCDs/AQMDs in this evaluation, the staff of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) prepared the "Characterization of PM10 and PM2.5 in California" technical document with information from the perspective of the State standards. This technical document describes characteristics of PM10 and PM2.5 in each APCD/AQMD within each air basin in the state.
