| Resources released by CDHS for schools to assist asthmatic children |
The California Department of Health Services (CDHS) has released resources for schools to assist children with asthma.
In April 2004, the Guidelines for the Management of Asthma in California Schools were developed jointly by health professionals in the California Department of Education and the California Asthma Public Health Initiative (CDHS) in statewide collaboration with asthma experts and stakeholders. The guidelines provide the most up to date information about how school health and other personnel can assist children in managing their asthma in the school setting. In addition, in October 2004, DHS developed and released an Asthma Action Plan for Schools and Families. Both documents can be downloaded by clicking on the links below. For additional information please visit the California Asthma Public Health Initiative website at http://www.dhs.ca.gov/CDIC/caphi/default.htm.
