Merced-Mariposa Asthma Coalition's school outdoor air quality-page 2 of 2
The Merced-Mariposa County Asthma Coalition's school outdoor air quality "flag polcy" program brochure can help other local asthma coalitions and school-based groups inititate the use of "flags" at elementary and secondary public and private schools. This program is based on the Air Quality Index, which reflects daily levels of ozone and particles in outdoor air in the surrounding community. The AQI is related to federal and state health-based outdoor air quality regulations.

For an article that includes information about this CAFA Local Coalition's "flag policy" program, please see the August-September 2004 Monthly Local Coalition Spotlight at http://www.calasthma.org/about_cafa/monthly_spotlight/.
