Learn How to Obtain and Apply Health Data Using Online Data Sources
Staff and volunteers of community-based organizations serving Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties are invited to participate in a free one-day workshop on how to obtain and apply health and social data using computer and Internet-based tools. The workshop -- Introduction to Health Data and Online Data Sources -- is offered by the Center's Health DATA program and is supported through a grant from the Community Technology Foundation of California.
Workshop participants will learn skills to improve their use of data and the Internet including: understanding data types and how to apply data to program planning and policy advocacy; how to obtain data using online sources such as AskCHIS of the California Health Interview Survey; and how to use computer software like Excel to present data in policy and program
proposals.
