| A May 2004 study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives showed that environmental exposures during the first year of life are associated with childhood asthma risk. Researchers at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine conducted a case-control study that matched children with asthma to those without and assessed exposure and asthma histories in order to determine whether exposures and asthma were associated.
