In October, 2003, the Regional Asthma Management and Prevention Initiative (RAMP) convened a meeting on asthma and diesel in order to share the latest research, mitigation measures, community advocacy, policy changes and media advocacy.
The following presentation, by Gina Solomon, MD, MPH, of the Natural Resources Defense Council and the UCSF Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit, provides an overview of the physiological dangers of diesel exhaust.
