In 2006, in an expansion of the Teachers for Healthy Kids Project, the California Teachers Association (CTA) received additional funding to focus on efforts related to indoor air quality and asthma prevention. These efforts are part of the Healthy Air, Healthy Kids Project.
The goals of the Healthy Air, Healthy Kids Project are to:
--Increase teacher awareness of the link between indoor air quality, health and learning.
--Provide easy classroom interventions for teachers to help identify, prevent and remediate simple indoor air problems and asthma triggers.
--Link CTA and local associations with other stakeholders to advance school indoor air quality policies and practices.
To advance these goals, the Healthy Air, Healthy Kids Project has created a website with a number of resources and materials related to asthma, indoor air quality, and school hazards.
