Kaiser Permanente has developed a pediatric asthma DVD in English and Spanish. The DVD, Understanding Your Childs Asthma, provides an overview of asthma, how to manage asthma at home and knowing when to call the doctor. The DVD also develops skills to improve asthma control and to prevent flare ups.

Kaiser Permanente will provide free DVDs to safety net clinics throughout California for use in the clinic and to give to patients to take home to reinforce the education and to practice self-management skills. This is a one-time distribution for 2008.
