The Institute of Health Policy at the University of California, San Francisco is in the process of interviewing "model" asthma programs across the nation to assist them in making recommendations about sustainable funding for these services in California. They would like to receive suggestions either about clinics or programs within California or across the country. The project is funded by The California Endowment and designed to provide an overview and recommendations to the California legislature regarding legislation for asthma care for high-risk children in community clinics. Specifically, project staff are looking to identify model clinics, or models that might be applied to clinics, from across the country, that, ideally, meet the following criteria: Provide high-quality asthma care to children in the safety net; have sustainable financing strategies to provide this care; serve ethnically and geographically diverse communities, and provide this type of care on at least a moderate-size scale. Please e-mail Mary Kreger, Dr. PH, MPH, Senior Researcher, directly at mailto:Mary.Kreger@ucsf.edu if you have suggestions of clinics that meet these criteria. She would like to make contact with these clinics for a short (15-20 minute) interview in order to document their lessons learned and inform their work in California.
