Fullerton Asthma Collaborative Treatment Services

Mission
To support a culturally appropriate advocacy and education program using a collaborative approach to reduce the incidence of asthma among low income Latino children and their families living in sub-standard housing in Fullerton.
 
Objectives
a) Provide culturally appropriate asthma education to approximately 75 families annually.

b) CHOC Asthma Breathmobile to provide 50 asthma/allergy clinical assessments annually.

c) Ensure that approximately 100 children annually are appropriately connected to a medical home.

d) Train a minimum of ten community organizer assistants annually.

e) Conduct 3 policy related actions annually to educate landlords and public officials about the effects of sub-standard housing on health to highlight the need to adopt and enforce new housing policies and regulations and to present possible solutions to policy makers. Facilitate adoption of at least one policy change.

f) Improve conditions in 75 housing units annually through mold remediation, cockroach and rodent reduction and reductions in indoor asthma triggers.
