Mission
|
| Comite Civico Del Valle, Inc. (CCV) was founded in 1987 and was incorporated in 1989 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, dedicated to serving the needs of Imperial County’s residents and the unserved and underserved populations. CCV is a volunteer agency of Promoters (non-formal community-member educators). The founder Jose Luis Velez is retired farm worker who started CCV by assisting immigrants to realize the dream of attaining U.S. citizenship by providing citizenship classes. Currently, CCV has 12 promotores, 6 of whom are certified in the areas of U.S. citizenship, community health outreach, HIV testing and counseling, asthma, domestic violence, tuberculosis, and pesticide awareness. |
