Mission
The National Latino Research Center at California State University San Marcos specializes in applied research, training, technical assistance and research-based services that contribute to the knowledge and understanding of the rapidly growing U.S. Latino population.

With a long-term commitment to community partnerships, the NLRC works with community organizations, coalitions, and public agencies to conduct culturally competent program evaluations, needs assessments, data collection activities, survey development, gap analyses, bilingual focus groups, literature reviews, and demographic analysis. The NLRC has expertise developing trainings and facilitating capacity building, professional development and results-oriented accountability. Key project areas include health, education, public policy, environmental justice, oral history, community development, and demographic trends. The role of NLRC as a partner in the Community Action to Fight Asthma (CAFA) initiative is to provide technical assistance to local asthma coalitions in Southern California.
