| The mission of the Kern County Asthma Coalition is to provide ongoing asthma education to the children of Kern County and their circle of caregivers so they may lead healthier lives |

Objectives
|
Kern County Asthma Coalition Subcommittees:
1. Schools
2. Professional Education
3. Patient Education
4. Public Awareness
The following are the objectives for which the Kern County Asthma Coalition has been organized:
1. Promote an asthma-friendly environment in the schools.
2. Provide asthma training/education to all personnel, daycare providers, parents, and children.
3. Establish a monthly Coalition newsletter
4. Promote culturally sensitive asthma education for individuals and their caregivers.
5. Increase public awareness of asthma.
The goal of the Community Action to Fight Asthma (CAFA) initiative is to develop and implement intervention strategies to reduce asthma triggers in the immediate environments in which school-aged children live, learn and play. This goals is concurrent with the main goals of the coalition. |
